2017-18 Junior Interclub Trials, Pre-registration

Hi there Junior Interclub Player

We hope that you enjoyed interclub last season and would love to see you back again this Spring.

Junior trials will be held on 9th and 10th September. In order for the convenors to be able to select and grade the teams for the season, please pre-register then come along to trials on the following dates:

Saturday 9 September 18u yrs (boys and girls) – 10am-11am 10u yrs (boys and girls) – 10.30am-11.30am 12u yrs (boys and girls) – 11.30am-12.30pm Sunday 10 September 15u yrs girls – 10am-11.30am 15u yrs boys – 11.30am-1pm NOTE: Age groups are calculated as follows: 10u = under 11 yrs as at 31 March 2018 12u = under 13 yrs as at 31 March 2018 15u = under 16 yrs as at 31 March 2018 18u = under 19 yrs as at 31 March 2018

Please email louise.welte@vodafone.co.nz and pre-register to play interclub again this year. We will have a list of registered players at interclub trials.

If you can’t make the trial dates we can still include you in a team but you will need to let us know that you will not be attending and that you would still like to play.   If you want to try out for one of the top teams then attending trials on the dates above is compulsory.

Please indicate if you intend to play outside of your age group. Whilst we encourage you to play within your age group we understand that this doesn’t suit all players. If we don’t hear otherwise you will be placed in a team within your age group.

PLEASE NOTE: It is important that you pre-register (simply email Louise by Monday 4th September) and confirm you wish to play interclub this season. Only those registered will be included in teams entered for the season.

Saturday Morning Junior Tennis Coaching

All junior members of Belmont Park enjoy attending Saturday morning coaching in Term 1 and Term 4 as part of their membership.  The group sessions are 1 hour each, commencing at 9am, 10am and 11am.

The groups are based on age and ability as follows:

9.00am - 10.00am	Bronze	5 - 8 year olds
10.00am - 11.00am	Silver	9 - 12 year olds
11.00am - 12.00pm	Gold	12+ years

Please note that interclub juniors have their own coaching programme.  The above coaching groups are for pre-interclub players.

If you are new to the club please speak to one of the coaches and we will ensure your child is placed in the best group for their ability so that they are learning with other children of a similar level.  If our coaches feel your child is ready to move into a higher group, we would encourage this.

We also have new junior racquets in our Pro Shop if your child would like to upgrade their racquet.  Please check out the Smash Tennis website or see Mark for advice on the best racquet for your child. 

For children who are not yet members of the club we encourage you to pop along and join into one of the groups.  It is lots of fun! We also have many junior racquets available at the club for you to borrow if you do not yet have one of your own.  Any queries about Saturday morning coaching please contact the Club Office.
