JUNIOR BOYS SELECTED FOR TRI-SERIES TOURNAMENT
Three Belmont juniors have been chosen to represent Auckland in this year's Auckland/BOP/Waikato Junior Tri-Series Squash Tournament. The tournament runs from the 8th -10th April in Matamata. The boys selected are Henry Pyc - Boys under 17s, Rafa Yam - Boys under 13s, and Matthew Lucente - Boys under 11s. This is a fantastic achievement as only 2 boys/girls are selected per age division to represent Auckland. This is Henry's 3rd selection, Rafa's fourth year to be selected and Matthew's first. Good luck boys - Belmont is very proud of you!

SQUASH CLUB CHAMPS 2010
Congratulations to Henry Pyc and Tracey Hartley (pictured) who won the club champs titles over the weekend of 29th - 31st October. Henry played an excellent match to beat Hayden Adams in the men's final, whilst Tracey's skill and precision on the court overcame Natalie Sheridan (me!) in the women's final. There were 4 players in each of the mens and ladies divisions - congratulations also to Simon Munro and Walter Lawry and Dorothea Kingan and Anneke Simmonds for a strong showing in the round robin play.

BELMONT PARK FINALIST IN AUCKLAND SQUASH CLUB OF THE YEAR
Belmont narrowly lost out to Franklin Squash Club at the annual Auckland Squash Excellence Awards held at Herne Bay on 16th October. Congratulations to the squash organisers and enthusiasts at the club who continuously strive to make Belmont one of the best squash clubs in Auckland. We'll get it next year! CHANGE OF SCORING FOR SENIOR INTERCLUB
Belmont Squash Convenor Michelle MacGibbon attended a special General Meeting at Squash Auckland recently to vote on the proposed change of scoring for the spring pennant and future pennants. It was voted that the commonly used British Scoring be changed to Point A Rally (PAR) scoring. Although it is thought that this decision may have a negative effect on interclub in the Auckland area, Belmont is still going strong, entering a total of 8 teams in the spring pennant.
